Ely, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Tall Ships aren't the only thing expected to bring out the crowds in the Northland this week.
In Ely they're anticipating that the Blueberry Art Festival will draw some 40,000 people to town, all in the name of the tasty, and plentiful, little fruit.
Whiteside Park will be the main scene of action, with 300 vendors displaying art, and live music entertaining the crowds through the weekend festival.
At the Front Porch Coffee and Tea Company, just down the road, they're ready to take visitors' taste buds to the next level with their blueberry concoctions.
"...blueberry banana smoothie, we have blueberry iced tea and hot tea, which is a black tea with blueberry flavoring—no sugar added. We have blueberry lemonade, blueberry muffins, blueberry scones," listed owner Doug Scheibe, with examples on hand.
The Blueberry Art Festival will run through the weekend.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a blueberry festival without a blueberry pancake breakfast served each day.
