Bemidji, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The body discovered in Irving Lake near Bemidji has been identified as that of Matthew Pulis.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that the cause of death was drowning.
31-year-old Pulis, originally from the Iron Range, was last seen in the downtown area of Bemidji in October of last year.
His mysterious disappearance sparked a massive search which, until this week, came up empty.
When Pulis was originally reported missing, the Bemidji Police Department conducted a 200 block, door to door search.
The shoreline of Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving were also searched on foot, by boat and air.
Pulis' body was recovered yesterday following an aerial search of Lake Irving.
