Iron, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Cherry School in Iron, Minnesota has closed for the day Tuesday due to a power outage.

Principal Jeff Carey confirmed to an NNC reporter that the school had no water or power. The outage occurred around 11 Tuesday morning.

The outage is believed to have been caused by a car accident that did not happen near the school but hit a power line that was connected to the same line as the school.

Students were sent home immediately.
