Update: Red Cross Assisting Chisholm Family after Fire

Chisholm, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Chisholm family's home is considered uninhabitable after a fire broke out early Friday morning.

The Chisholm Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire around 8 am Friday on 5th St. SW. The fire started on the 2nd floor of the home and burned into the attic. The home is considered to be uninhabitable.

A family with several children were home at the time, but all occupants were able to escape unharmed.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Crews were still on scene as of 9:30 Friday morning.

The Red Cross is currently reaching out to the family to assist following the fire and are assessing their disaster-related needs.
