St. Louis County, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Cook, MN man was killed Friday after being ejected from his car following a two car accident.

The accident happened on Highway 53 near Anton Rd. around 7:15 p.m., Friday in St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department said 74-year-old man Richard Chapman was driving northbound on Highway 53 when he struck the rear end of another vehicle.

Chapman lost control, went into a ditch and was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities do not know if Chapman was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the second vehicle, Tonn Donald, a 51-year-old man of Crosby MN, suffered no apparent injuries. Authorities say Donald was wearing a seat belt.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash and road conditions were dry.
