Tree breakage across the Superior National Forest due to heavy snow on April 16th caused many roads, trails, BWCAW portages, and campgrounds to be blocked.
Crews have been working to clear the storm debris and have opened all major roads and key visitor access points.
Workers have continued to cut and remove trees and limbs from secondary roads, trails, campgrounds, and BWCA Wilderness portages.
It may be several weeks before access points are free of all blockages.
Forest managers are tracking reported blockages and sites that have been cleared.
