Eveleth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A robbery at the Eveleth Short Stop on Friday has left one man behind bars and a gas station manager grateful.

Kassandra Lammers, manager of the Eveleth Short Stop was leaving the gas station to make a deposit at Miners National Bank across the street when Tyler James Majerle grabbed a bag of money from her hands and attempted to run.

2 trucks driving by cut Majerle off and about 6 bystanders tackled Majerle to the ground and detained him until Eveleth Police showed up at the scene.

Lammers, who is pregnant with twins, says she is thankful to be part of a community that has her back.

"I would really like to thank everyone who was involved in the incident that happened. I'm really grateful and appreciative of everyone that helped. It makes me feel really good inside that there's good people here in town to take action when something like this happens," said Lammers.

On Monday Majerle was charged with 2 counts of felony theft.

He told officers that the $5,200 he had stolen was going to be used for drugs.

Luckily, with the help of the Eveleth community, Lammers got all the money back without anyone getting seriously hurt.
