Virginia, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A fire Monday evening destroyed the building where Kunnari's Farmers Market stores produce and makes their baked goods, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage.

"They weren't cooking anything on the stove or anything," said family member Rozy Kunnari to a customer, "We're not sure what happened."

Less than 30 minutes after the Kunnaris left their business Monday evening, firefighers from the Virginia and Mountain Iron departments responded to a fire at the family's building.

"You think that it isn't your building and that this isn't happening to you," said Kunnari.

According to the Virginia Fire Department, the fire was put out within 5 to 10 minutes, but not before destroying the inside of the structure.

Both the Kunnaris and their customers say their baked goods are a huge part of their business, one that without could create huge losses.

"Yeah, there won't be any bakery out there and no pies on Tuesday or Friday, no pumpkin bars," said Kunnari.

The Kunnaris say it's too soon to tell whether insure will pay for all or any of the destroyed building. However, they say they will remain open through October 31st at their location in Virginia.
