Washington, D.C (Northland's NewsCenter) -- If you had to guess, who do you think makes the better hot dish...Senator Al Franken or Congressman Chip Cravaack?
Their hot dish skills were put to the test today as part of the "second annual hot dish off." Members of Minnesota's Congressional legislation put politics aside to whip up their best recipes.
Because whether you're a republican or a democrat, most Minnesotans love a good hot dish. This year there was a tie.
“If there’s one thing that can bring a bunch of Minnesotans together, it’s hot dish” said Sen. Franken. “I want to thank all of my colleagues for participating in today’s competition, and it’s always great to be able to put partisanship aside and focus on the things we have in common. And a hearty congratulations to Rep. Cravaack for the an amazing hot dish.”
Senator Al Franken and Congressman Chip Cravaack split first place bragging rights.
"But Chip did use, mahnomin or wild rice was from Fond du Lac which is of course near Duluth and obviously in his district so, kudos," said Sen. Franken.
Senator Amy Klobuchar won last year with her "Taconite Tater–Tot Hot Dish"
