Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Grand Rapids teenager appeared in court Monday for multiple charges: assault in the second degree, four counts of kidnapping, one count of domestic assault by strangulation, one count of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and one count of interference with an emergency call.
Rodney Jacob LaBrosse, 18–years–old, of Grand Rapids has charges stemming from allegations that he forced a female friend to drive them both to his ex–girlfriend's home this month. Then LaBrosse allegedly forced the ex–girlfriend, their infant child and the female friend into the vehicle.
The charges allege that he then got into the vehicle, kidnapped and choked his ex–girlfriend. Apparently LaBrosse released the three people/baby, and then led police on a five mile pursuit.
LeBrosse's bail has been set at $100,000 without conditions ($50,000 with conditions). He will appear in court next in early August.
