Grand Rapids Drug Bust Nets Four People

Grand Rapids, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Grand Rapids Police have netted four people in a drug bust.

A 51-year-old Grand Rapids man is charged with 5th degree possession of a controlled substance and 2nd degree sales of a controlled substance.

On April 1st, officers seized methamphetamine, prescription medications and cash from the home of Duane Peter Lazzaro.

On April 5th Officers of the Grand Rapids Police Department were involved in the investigation of the sale of prescription medications. Through the investigation, Lazzaro sold approximately 90 pills to an undercover police officer. Lazzaro was arrested in that case again.

On April 9th, Grand Rapids police searched a home where they seized methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medications and cash.

One adult male and two adult females were arrested and transported to the Itasca County Jail where they remained awaiting formal charges. Three minors were taken into protective custody as a result of this incident.

Chief Denny credits the hard work of Investigator Bob Stein in connection with all three incidents.
