Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Hibbing's tourism sector could also be seeing a $9.5 million boost, pending finalization of a new hotel.

A new Hampton Inn and Suites could become the next hotel in Hibbing, the proposed site of which is at the Ogle Family Foods store.

The site has drawn interest from other hotels in the past.
The development agreements are currently pending between Duluth–based ZMC Hotels, the city, and the IRRRB.

Officials say a need to expand room availability for tourists to the region is always present.

"We need more hotel opportunities across the region," said IRRRB Commissioner Tony Sertich, "and we've been working with the city of Hibbing to provide the infrastructure for the hotel that's hopefully going to be produced there, and it's going to be helpful to our community to attract more people."

Officials hope to break ground before the end of the year.
