High winds causing power outages across the Northland

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - According to Minnesota Power, more than 1,000 customers were without power across the Northland on Monday.

The major power outages have been restored, which included customers in Carlton County new Blackhoof, Wrenshall, and Mahtowa.

Crews are still working on isolated outages in the Woodland area.

Wind gusts are at about 30 miles an hour inland which are causing trees to fall on a number of power lines causing scattered outages.
Winds are at almost 40 miles an hour here near Lake Superior.

There is a gale warning on Lake Superior causing waves to reach up to 7ft.
