Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- All lanes on Highway 169 in Grand Rapids are expected to re-open late Monday on August 27.
In each direction since April, traffic had been restricted to one lane.
Temporary lane closures will continue until October due to minor work still being done.
Work will continue June 2013 when permanent markings replace temporary pavement markings.
The project is scheduled to wrap up by June 30.
Highway 169 from 3rd Street N to 13th Street S will be completely reconstructed, and an new center-turn-lane to separate through-traffic from turning-traffic, will be added.
This addition is to help reduce rear-end collisions and improve traffic flow.
