Duluth, MN (NNC NOW) - According to officials with USPS, while every Monday since Cyber Monday has been significantly busier than usual, the "official" busiest day of the year has traditionally been next Monday.

But it doesn't mean you should wait until then to get your gifts in the mail, says Rex Hein of the postal and shipping hub The Mail Room.

Hein says the rush has been coming in streaks: "Some people come in and... buy a stamp; others come in and they'll ship all of their Christmas stuff at one time. Even last week it started to pick up."

Hein says the lines are growing, but adds that we haven't seen the peak yet, which, according to UPS Store owner Jason Bombardieri, is quickly approaching.

"Next Monday, next weekend, will be a lot busier—substantially busier," says Bombardieri.

Sunday's blizzard didn't stop customers from bringing in over 300 packages for shipping across the nation, and warns procrastinators that the deadline for pre–holiday delivery is fast approaching.

"As of today there are 10 shipping days left in the season. Next Monday is really the last shipping day to get it coast to coast without paying anything additional," says Bombardieri.

...10 business days which could also be affected by some ever–changing winter weather.

"Just because it's nice in Arizona and nice here doesn't mean that your package may not be delayed by weather somewhere else,"says Bombardieri.

According to officials with USPS, next Monday will also be the biggest day for Christmas card delivery, and the chances of those getting delivered before Christmas are much higher as the 25th draws closer.
