Virginia (Northland’s NewsCenter) – The Iron Range man who led police on a high speed chase that resulted in a State Trooper opening fire on the suspect's vehicle, has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.
33-year old, Kevin Michael Korte faces felony charges including use of deadly force against a police officer, second degree assault with a dangerous weapon and fleeing anofficer in a vehicle.
The charges stem from an incident in which Korte hit a mailbox and then rammed and disabled a state patrol vehicle.
After that he led officials on a high speed chase through Virginia.
