Virginia, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Another DFLer has announced their plans to run for the recently vacated 6B House seat.
Jason Metsa, the Field Coordinator of the North East Area Labor Council, has announced his candidacy for the 6B House seat after Tom Rukavina decided to retire.
Metsa, 31, is a 5th generation Iron Ranger living in Virginia. He is currently the Field Coordinator for the North East Area Labor Council representing the seven counties of northeastern Minnesota. He has also served on the Range Mental Health Center Advisory Board.
“Integrity, hard work, honesty, and family values are what built the Range," says Metsa. "They are values I will take with me to St. Paul to represent this region."
Metsa also says some of the main issues he plans to focus on include funding to all levels of education, providing adequate care to seniors, and helping make the Iron Range that not only invites but retains young families.
Life time Iron Ranger Lorrie Janatopoulos has also announced her candidacy for the 6B seat.
