St. Paul, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division (DVS) will offer most services beginning Thursday.
Technicians spent most of the day Wednesday restoring computer systems necessary for processing driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.
All people with a road test scheduled for July 21 and beyond will be able to take their test at the scheduled time.
Anyone who had a test scheduled during the state government interruption should call, beginning Thursday, to reschedule their test. People can call 651-284-1000.
Knowledge tests (written tests) will be available beginning Thursday morning.
Online tab renewal and license plate services will also be available beginning Thursday morning.
People who are eligible to have their driving privileges reinstated will be able to visit a driver’s license center for reinstatement beginning Thursday afternoon.
Prorate services may not be available beginning Thursday.
Those seeking prorate services should call before coming to verify when those services will be available.
DVS five day exam offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
All DVS offices will maintain regular hours moving forward.
