Aurora, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Mesabi East High School has been taken off lock down after authorities received a report of a live rifle on school grounds.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was dispatched around ten this morning to locate the alleged live rounds and placed the school on soft lock down.

Deputies say their search yielded unrelated contraband, however the school has been deemed secure and students and staff were allowed to carry on with the remainder of their day.

Hoyt Lakes Police Department, Gilbert Police Department and Eveleth Police Department also responded to today's lock down.
