Mt. Iron man in hospital after snowmobile flips on top of him on Iron Range

Mt. Iron, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Mt. Iron man is recovering in a Virginia hospital after his snowmobile flipped, landing on top of him Saturday.

According to the Saint Louis County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred near the Campground Road and Highway 169 in Mt. Iron.

39 year old Norman Konecny was traveling Southbound in the ditch when he was ejected from his snowmobile after hitting a rock.

Konecny's snowmobile then flipped over, landing on top of him.

He was transported to Essentia Hospital, in Virginia, with non life threatening injuries.

He is the brother of the Clionton Township family who lost their home in a house fire Thursday morning.
