Emo, Ontario (NNCNOW.com) - The Ontario Provincial Police have recovered the body of a 27-year-old man reported missing after going for a swim in the Rainy River on Sunday.

The Rainy River District of the OPP said a Underwater Search and Recovery Unit found Odane Orville White of Toronto approximately 35 feet south of the Emo public docks, about 30 miles west of International Falls.

Police originally responded Sunday night on a report of two men attempting to swim out into the river. One of them went under water and failed to surface.

OPP are working with the Regional Coroners Office to schedule a postmortem examination.

The Koochiching County Sheriff's Department assisted in the investigation.
