Teenager Seriously Injured in Crash near Chisholm

Chisholm, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A teenager is in the hospital following a one-vehicle accident near Chisholm on December 6.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department responded to the accident around 4 p.m. on Highway 84 in Balkan Township.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, 16-year-old Andrew Tyminski, was traveling westbound on Highway 84 when his pick-up truck left the road and struck a wooden fence.

Tyminski was transported by ambulance to the University Medical Center in Hibbing, but was then airlifted to Essentia Health-St Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

He is currently listed in serious condition.

There is no word yet on what caused the teen's car to leave the road.
