Overnight Snowmobile Accident Near Cook Left Man Outside for Hours Severely Injured

DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - An overnight snowmobile accident on the Arrowhead Trail near Cook left a Mankato man outside for hours with severe injuries.

Forty-one year old John Bastian was traveling with seven others when he got separated from the group.

He was reported missing soon around midnight.

The St. Louis County Rescue Squad assisted in the search.

A passerby eventually found Bastian along the trail at 9 a.m. this morning, where he had gotten into an accident.

Bastian was transported to Cook hospital and then Life-Flighted to Essentia Health in Duluth with severe injuries.
