Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The St. Luke's Foundation is joining the fight on Synthetic Drugs in Duluth.

A record number of people attended a Medical Milestones education luncheon this afternoon focusing on the substance.

The Medical Director of St. Luke's Emergency Department, Doctor Nicholas Van Deelen, told the audience there needs to be more awareness about the problem and active support efforts to solve it.

Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay also spoke during the event.

Today's event comes just a week before Minnesota attorney general Lori Swanson will hold a public hearing on the impact of the sale and use of synthetic drugs in Duluth.
