Big Falls, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Northland Chapter of the Red Cross stepped in to help a family in the Big Falls community after a fire completely destroyed their home on Sunday.
Local Red Coss disaster volunteer Becky Trudel of Grand Rapids, MN met with the two people who lived in the home to assess their disaster related needs and provide them financial assistance for food and emergency housing.
The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross responds to around 100 local disasters per year. Red Cross disaster relief includes emergency housing, food, clothing, medicine and medical supplies, eyeglasses, health services and disaster counseling. Financial relief is typically used by clients at local businesses, thus pumping up to $100,000 in charitable contributions back into the communities we serve.
