Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- After nearly four days on the trail, Chisholm, Minn. native John Schroeder crossed the finish line early Wednesday morning to claim the 2013 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon title.
Schroeder came into Duluth around 9:00 a.m., adding a second title to his 2010 championship.
During the final leg of the race, Schroeder and Ray, Minn. native Keith Alli were neck-and-neck, even switching the lead a few times in that stretch.
It was a decision to not rest at the Finland, Minn. stop that proved to be the difference, with Schroeder leading from there on out.
