Second Group Files Suit Over Childcare Unionization Law

June 5, 2013 Updated Jun 5, 2013 at 3:15 PM CDT

St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A second group of childcare business owners has filed a federal lawsuit against a new Minnesota law allowing daycare providers to unionize.

About a dozen providers from around the states filed suit in US District Court today with legal assistance from the National Right to Work Foundation.

The group joins "Childcare Freedom" which filed suit last month claiming a union would force independent business owners to join and pay dues.

Advocates argue the unions could secure higher reimbursement rates and better industry standards.
