Update: Identities Released in Crash Near Eveleth

Fayal Township, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Police have released the identities of the two people injured after a car crashed into a tree along Highway 37 near Eveleth.

53 year old Christine Matetich and her husband 62 year old John Matetich of Hibbing, MN both suffered non-life threatening injuries during the crash.

According to police, authorities were called to a car accident around 6:30pm on Thursday along Highway 37 in Fayal Township.

The car Christine Matetich was driving went through a stop sign at a "T" in the road at the intersection of Highway 37 and Miller Trunk Road when the car ran into a tree head on.

The Eveleth Police Department, St. Louis County Sheriff Office and the Minnesota State Patrol all responded to the scene.
