Virginia, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Iron Range law enforcement personnel are teaming up with other Range organizations for the first annual "Stuff the Ambulance" event.
An ambulance from the Virginia Fire Department will be parked in the parking lot of the Virginia McDonald's throughout Black Friday shopping weekend, collecting new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children on the Range.
The ambulance will be in the lot from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday November 23rd through Sunday November 25th.
Organizers hope by the end of the weekend, the ambulance will be filled with toys.
"We're going to be giving those toys to the Salvation Army when it's all done," said Gilbert Police Officer Hal Henning, "They will wrap the toys and distribute them to the families in need and to the shelters."
Anyone who helps to fill the ambulance by donating a new, unwrapped toy this weekend will receive a free McDonald's Happy Meal.
If you can't make it to the "Stuff the Ambulance" event this weekend, you can drop off toy donations to the Gilbert, Eveleth and Virginia Police Departments.
