Two Car Accident Sends One to the Hospital

Hibbing, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A two car accident Tuesday evening sent one person to the hospital and totaled both cars involved.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Mercury Mountaineer driven by 70 year old Roger Hamrick of Hibbing, MN was attempting to cross Highway 73 along Townline Road when a Chevy Cobalt driven by 24 year old Dustin Rahja of Floodwood, MN struck the mountaineer.

Hamrick sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to UMCM in Hibbing.

Authorities say that alcohol was detected in Hamrick's system, however did state if it was above the legal limit.

Rahja did not sustain any apparent injuries in the crash.

The Hibbing Police Department, St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol all responded to the accident.
