Two Dead in Rollover on Iron Range

McDavitt Township, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - According to the St Louis County Sheriff's Department, the call came in just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

A vehicle traveling north on Highway 7 near McDavitt Township appeared to have left the road and rolled, landing in the ditch.

A Gene Hanegmon, 55, and a nine month old boy, Byron Carlson, both of Hibbing, were killed as a result of the accident.

A third passenger, Cindy Rewertz, 28, also from Hibbing, was airlifted to St Luke's Hospital in Duluth with non life threatening injuries. Rewertz is the mother of Carlson.

Authorities say the accident happened last night and was discovered early this morning.

An investigation as to what caused the accident.
