VIRGINIA, MN (Northland's NewsCenter)---The Virginia Police Department is asking for help in finding a Virginia woman who was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday night.

Roberta Lynn Caskey was walking on the street a block from her home with her 9–year old son along with Bobbi Mott, a female friend, who had her two boys, both under the ages of three with her when it happened.

"I screamed as loud as I could for someone to hear us," Mott said. "For someone to call right away or something, and I was shaking like crazy trying to call 911."

Police received a call around 8:00 Thursday night reporting that 40–year–old Timothy Glen Caskey aggressively forced his estranged wife, 45–year old Roberta into a truck near the 300 block of 1st Avenue North and drove away.

When Roberta was grabbed and pulled into the vehicle, Mott reported she dropped her cell phone outside the car.

"That's when he hit me in the head, a good one, right when I went down to grab the phone," Mott said.

Police report that Timothy has a long history of domestic abuse and violence.

Prior charges include violation of a domestic abuse order and no contact order, plus two counts of disorderly conduct and making harassing phone calls.

On the day of the alleged kidnapping, he had just been released having served only fifty of his sentenced ninety days in St. Louis County Jail.

"He had contacted her after being released from jail, he was able to get a transportation to Virginia, and our officers were looking for him prior to this incident but were unable to locate him," Detective Tim Koivunen of the Virginia Police Department said.

The Caskey's are separated and Roberta has an active Order for Protection against Tim.

Friends in the neighborhood have witnessed other incidents that raise concern about the relationship.

"It was okay at first, and as time went on, it got a little rocky, and he became a mean person, from what she has said to me," Heather Pulkinen, a neighbor friend said.

Police have reason to believe Timothy may have taken Roberta to a more remote area either on a back road or near a camp ground or beach—–leaving friends with only hope for the best.

"They way he looked, the look in his face that day when he literally ran towards her, I don't think there's love there," Mott said.

Police say Caskey may face 2 counts gross misdemeanor domestic abuse, assault and kidnapping charges if he's found.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Virginia Police Department.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has put out an alert asking people across the state to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is a red or maroon, 1991, GMC Sierra pickup truck, with a Minnesota license plate number of NFX–316, which is registered to Timothy Caskey.
