Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth-Superior port is currently awaiting the first arrival of a "Saltie" this shipping season. The Diana is expected to arrive at the Duluth-Superior port at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The Diana was supposed to arrive early Wednesday morning; however, it was delayed, as so many Lakers have been, due to Lake Superior's ice.

Close to 1,000 ships visit the Port of Duluth-Superior each year, moving roughly 40 million tons of cargo made up of iron ore, coal, grain, limestone, cement, salt and more, according to the Duluth Seaway Port Authority.
