Minnesota D-F-L candidates for U-S Senate took center stage at the College of St. Scholastica this evening.

Candidates Mike Ciresi, Jim Cohen, Jack Nelson-Pallmyer and Al Franken, are all vying for the democratic nomination.

The candidates began the debate by focusing on the issue of health care reform.

Sponsors of the event say it's not just about spreading the message across campus grounds.

"It also gives the whole community of Duluth and Minnesota a chance to hear four very inspiring speakers talk about the issues that we all should be caring about."

The candidate receiving the D-F-L nomination will be competing against Senator Norm Coleman in November.
