Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -At 6 PM, Zinema 2 will host the Homegrown Music Video Festival, which features music videos made and designed by local bands and filmmakers.
At 7:30, Teatro Zuccone will host the Homegrown Poetry Showcase, which emphasizes just how diverse the talent is, and will be, throughout the week.
Christine Dean, Music Director for KUMD, says it's all a part of what makes Homegrown unique.
"Everything about it is fun. I mean, riding the trolley—there's musicians on the trolley, and everybody's wishing each other a happy Homegrown. Like I said, it's just our holiday," said Dean.
In all, over 170 acts will be performing at 27 venues throughout this week, which, according to Pizza Luce Music Director Alex Bauer, the more the merrier, as business for a venue hosting a homegrown evening tends to receive a major boost in food and beverage sales alone.
