Early Morning Fire Guts Vacant Duluth House

A vacant Duluth house is a total loss after an early morning fire on Tuesday.

Duluth fire crews were called to the scene at 105 S. Blackman Ave. just after 1 a.m.

Seven crews from three fire stations responded to 1-1/2 story structure, which was engulfed in flames.

Multiple hoselines were used to knock down the fire.

A fire captain suffered back injuries and was transported to a local emergency room for evaluation.

The house was unoccupied and currently up for sale.

The cause remains under investigation.
