Coaster Brook Trout May Soon Be Listed Endangered

The Coaster Brook Trout may soon be listed as an endangered species.

The Coaster, once prevalent in Lake Superior, now has a resident breeding population in only one stream on the south shore of the lake.

Habitat degradation by logging and road-building upstream from spawning grounds have caused numbers to decline.

Today the Sierra Club and The Huron Mountain Club jointly petitioned the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service to list the Coaster Brook Trout under the Endangered Species Act.

Was there a study done that links Logging and Road Building up stream as the only two factors that lead to there decline? Or is that what the Sierra Club listed as the only two reasons?
