Fire Extinguished In Hibbing

A Fire Thursday in downtown Hibbing damaged a restaurant that's something of a local landmark.

The Sammy's Restaurant on Howard Street in Hibbing was damaged, along with an apartment building on the block.

A cosmetology school next door was also evacuated.

Hibbing and Chisholm fire departments responded around 3:30 Thursday and extinguished the fire quickly, but stayed on scene for about four hours checking for hot spots and damage.
