Update: Suspected Drunk Driving Accident Causes Duluth Road to Close

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A suspected drunk driving accident prompted authorities to close about a mile of Lester River Road in Duluth for about two hours today.

St. Louis County Sheriff Authorities say a 56-year-old man from Lakewood Township driving a red pickup truck southbound on Lester River Road lost control and slammed into a power line.

The driver walked into the woods.

The Sherriff's Volunteer Rescue Squad along with a K9 unit found the man walking out to a nearby road.

The man was arrested for second degree DUI and second degree test refusal as well as driving without a license that had been cancelled Inimical to Public Safety.

He was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.

The St. Louis County Sherriff’s Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, the Lake Wood Volunteer Fire Department as well as First Responders assisted in the accident.
