Authorities Investigate Balsam Township Death

(Northland’s NewsCenter) --- A 19-year-old man found unresponsive outside a cabin in Rural Balsam Township has died.

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office says the victim was transported on advanced life support by ambulance to the Grand Itasca Clinic Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is being withheld until his family is notified.

Authorities responded to the cabin around 3 Sunday morning.

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Nashwauk Police Department, Keewatin Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol, Balsam Township Fire Department as well as the Nashwauk Ambulance.
