Ikonics To Break Ground On Thursday

By KBJR Manager

Ikonics Corporation, an imaging and technology company, will break ground tomorrow at its new site in Morgan Park.

The company recently acquired eleven acres at the site of the former Universal Atlas Cement Company and plans to move from its Grand Avenue location.

Company spokesmen say they outgrew their former site.

The groundbreaking represents the initiation of "phase one" of the Ikonics expansion which includes the construction of a manufacturing facility.

Ikonics will benefit from tax incentives through the state's JOB-Z program and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Phase one is expected to be complete by October, 2008.
