A tragic fire in Duluth's Lincoln Park Neighborhood Sunday morning killed the family of three living in the triplex. Julie Pearce tells us more about the victims.
Dozens of family and friends stopped by the house, some getting out of there cars in shock as they came to the realization of what had happened.
What's most apparent, is that Adrian, Heather, and her son Kaiden where loved by many.
"They were wonderful people, wonderful people."
Flowers are held up by a toy truck that now stands motionless.
Notes left by friends and family, share thoughts of love and remembrance.
Many tears have been shed here today and will continue to fall
For some it's a time to hold one another, for others it's a time to be held, but for those visiting the 200 block of Piedmont, it's a moment to hold on.
"It was just awesome just to have people that would just come up to you and talk, it gives you a renewed faith in humanity."
Of the victims was 32- year old Heather Johnson, her 4- year old son Kaiden, and 37- year old Adrian Carter.
Heather, a Superior native, had been pursuing a cosmetology degree.
She had just started working at Stadium lanes. Friends describe her as bubbly and a person who always had a positive outlook on life.
"She was nice, she always had nice things to say."
Heather's son Kaiden was only 4- years old. May 19th would have been his 5th birthday, for which plans had been made to celebrate at Carnival Thrillz next Sunday.
He had lots of energy, enjoyed climbing things, and loved Spongebob Squarepants, and had an appetite for dill pickle chips.
"He was just a fun loving kid, he loved life, and now he's gone..."
"He always wanted to do something. He always wanted to play."
The third victim, 37- year old Adrian Carter, had been dating Heather for over a year.
"They were in love, I'll tell you that."
He had three kids of his own, and much like a father to Kaiden as well.
"He just liked having fun with his kids and his family... a lot of fishing, campouts, cookouts, but he always wanted to be with his family when he did stuff."
Originally from Ohio, Adrian grew up in Duluth, graduated from Central High School, was big into dancing, and had spent over a decade working with troubled youth at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center.
"He was very special, he touched a lot of people that he hung around with... everybody respected him and they miss him a lot.
