Section Of Lakewalk Closed

By KBJR News 1

If you're planning to go for a walk on the Lakewalk in Duluth be prepared for some detours.

The Lakewalk between 18th and 20th Avenues East will be closed for approximately two weeks.

Because of reconstruction of this stretch of walkway there will be no access to the head of the path from Twentieth Avenue and Water Street.

The work is necessary because the Lakewalk was ripped up during construction of the overflow sewer tank at the Endion Pump Station.

The new tank will hold excess water flow during rains or runoff and to help reduce sanitary sewer overflows.
