Peace Officers Memorial Day

By KBJR News 1

Flags are flying at half-staff across Minnesota Thursday in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Governor Pawlenty ordered that U.S. and Minnesota flags fly at half-staff on state property from sunrise to sunset.

It's in honor of the federal, state and municipal officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty.

President Bush has also ordered that flags fly at half-staff at federal buildings.
