Nation's Only Fresh Water Academy Sails Into Harbor

The nation's only freshwater academy sailed into Duluth's Harbor Sunday.

The Great Lakes Maritime Academy has its classrooms aboard the "Training Ship State of Michigan".

Students are trained to serve as business professionals and merchant marine officers aboard Great Lakes and ocean ships.

It's a joint project established by University of Minnesota Duluth and University of Wisconsin- Superior.

Folks are invited to tour the floating research ship between 2:30 and 4 o'clock Monday afternoon.
