Sheda Killer Sentenced

By KBJR News 1

Luis Mark Hogan pleaded guilty to second–degree unintentional homicide that resulted from a fight in Duluth's Central Hillside.
Staff Sergeant Adam Sheda had returned from a tour in Iraq a week before he was shot by Hogan.
Sheda's family prepared victim impact statements and spoke at length on Sheda's life.
Hogan also read a prepared statement and apologized to the Sheda family for the pain that he has caused.

Hogan will be eligible for parole after serving 8 years.

Let's see...after a plea agreement, a guy who admits he was fighting a drunk guy, and in total control of the situation, and who referenced murder before shooting, gets out after 8 yrs. District attorney in Duluth must be the easiest job in the world. Especially when justice really isn't the most important factor considered when punishing criminals.
