Boy Struck By Vehicle In Superior

By KBJR News 1

A Superior child was struck by a car earlier this afternoon.

The boy was crossing Hammond Ave. Near 16th street when he was hit.

The force of the impact threw him several feet and knocked him out of his shoes, but the elementary aged boy walked away virtually unscathed suffering only a few cuts and bruises.

Superior police say the incident is still under investigation, and the boy was transported to a local hospital.

Drivers also need to slow down and pay more attention to the road, put the phone down, start looking like your suppose to be. Especially when school gets out. It's only 25 mph there, it's only a few blocks from my home.

Chuck Norris is a god, despite what others say. I hope the little boy is okay.

They have the right away when they intelligently cross the street. You can say all you want about yielding to a car, but i have seen way too many kids just walk out into traffic cause they know cars SHOULD stop...Lets not forget simple physics, 2000lbs of car vs 150lbs of man...the car always wins...unless the man is CHUCK NORRIS.

You need to get your facts straight. For a fact, I know that this child was not unscathed as you reported. The child is now fighting for his life. Not all injuries are on the outside!!!

Thats why they invented crosswalks and lights. He should have been taught not to cross anywhere else but at those areas. Glad hes ok though.

This Boy was lucky. Drivers must pay attention to pedestrians. I often walk myself and I have to dodge cars myself. Remember "Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way"!
