Snowmobiles Race on Water in Moose Lake

By KBJR News 1

It was the first year for the Moose Lake Grand Prix... an International Watercross Snowmobile Race.

In order to stay above the water, the sleds travel at speeds up to 80 miles and hour.

As much as the race is about competition, it's about high adrenaline entertainment for hundreds of fans, "It is wonderful for the town to bring in the people and the local businesses to help. And that's one of our main goals," says organizer Dean Weske.

In a face-off between the NewsCenter and the local ABC affiliate, Weekend Anchor Julie Pearce mounted the sled with Aaron Wallin of West Bend, Wisconsin and took to the water track.
