Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Last year saw an increase in passengers flying out of the Duluth International Airport, making 2012 the second busiest year in the airport's history.
According to airport officials, 322,208 passengers flew in and out of the airport in 2012, which is an increase of 9% compared to 2011.
"These numbers prove demand for flights in and out of Duluth is increasing," says Duluth Airport Authority Executive Director, Tom Werner. "We're very happy that the travelers from our region have embraced our current air service options."
Airport officials are hoping that with the addition of United's 3rd daily flight to Chicago and Allegiant providing a total of 37 flights in March, that first quarter numbers in 2013 will continue to be strong.
