Irvin 5-K Kicks Off Marathon Weekend

One of the most anticipated weekends of the year has arrived...
Both the full and half marathons kick off early tomorrow...

But those aren't the only races being held this weekend.

LeAnn Wallace is live at the starting line of the William A Irving 5–K where the race is just getting underway...

LeAnn...What's going over there?

Michelle it is crazy down here at the starting line–up of the Irvin 5–K. This race is in it's 16th year, and kicks off the big marathon weekend.
Over 13–hundred people are running in this 3–point–one mile race... And a lot of fans are here supporting the runners.

As you can see the energy is already high here. The energy will continue to be high in Duluth this weekend... with over 17–thousand runners and 50–thousand fans coming here to enjoy all of Grandma's many festivities.

LeAnn... how about this evening...

Michelle there's plenty to do tonight in Canal Park... from bands to beer tents, but chances are a lot of the runners will be going to bed early to rest up for the tomorrow.
